{Beckham's newborn shoot}

Oh I've been dying to see these. Debbie did an amazing job in capturing everything that I'd hoped. She tried so hard to get them all 3 together, IMPOSSIBLE with Mia scratching the boys and running off during pictures. Oh well maybe next time when baby brother is not so fragile.

These two are no longer technically just a pair, but they definitely are always going to be like peas and carrots! They remind me of me and my brother. Look familiar?My big brother Mark and I, same age difference as Bash and Mia, and same ages when pictures were taken.

{Recent Happenings}

I've been hounded by my mom and husband to post something new about the kids. Funny, no one cared about the blog so much until Beckham came along : ).
So first and foremost, we have an official 4th grader "In Da House" Woop Woop! Bash is growing fast and almost as tall as me (not there yet Bash) and super handsome, but I am a little biased. Dad gave him a special back to school Blessing and we prayed for a great new school year. Despite his dyslexia he did very well this past year, I hope that anyone out there with little ones and think they may be exhibiting signs of dyslexia, will get them tested, the sooner the better, and please know that they can beat it academically and emotionally, with lots of love and encouragement. We're so proud of you Bash!

I've been meaning to post this, this was the first Sunday after Beckham came home, Bash was gone, and Beck and mommy stayed home recovering, so Mia and Daddy went to church together. I love this pic!

As for this little guy, he's just the sweetest and quietest baby ever, which worries me because that's how my babies start out, but for some reason don't quite stay that way for long.
If you've ever seen the commercial for 1-800-contacts, you'll appreciate the nickname "Special Eyes" that's what we started calling him after we noticed he had this dramatic stare and uncanny resemblance. Here's the commercial:
This fierce little diva has discovered a passion for make-up and jewelry, John and I caught her doing this Sunday afternoon. But as you can see her OCD for cleanliness far out ways her passion for makeup and jewelry.
These are mostly to satisfy my mother who keeps bugging for pics of all 3, eat your heart out mom. I've got Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry, my Neapolitan bunch.
My parents came to visit again and while on the way home from the mall, Beck was gettin fussy so my dad offered his hand and Beck wrapped those sweet little fingers around his thumb and didn't let go the whole way home.
Mia was a little traumatized after seeing that so she began regressing when we got home and tapped back into her "infant" stage. She let my dad rock her in that car seat for 5 min. before regaining her senses.

{"Mom" & Joe's visit}

In our family the word "Mom" is more than just a title, it's also a highly acclaimed nickname and term of endearment. We called my mom's mom "Mom" and my neices and nephews now call my mom "Mom". It was kind of hard for John to understand, he thought it was a little bizarre and to be honest he wanted other nicknames for my children to call her, til he got to know my mom and understood the love and meaning behind that word when our children call her that. She truly embodies all that is "MOM" and she derserves that title and love more than anyone I know. We adore you "MOM"!
wait who's the newborn?
We had a short but awesome visit with my parents, it's only flaw was Bash's absence. Although he wasn't missing a thing, he had been invited to a fun-filled weekend with Aunt Jenna and the Rickers in Lake Jackson. This made him feel so special and indepenedent with all this baby commotion here at the Ririe house, he had so much fun, he had to apologize for not calling us for a couple of days. I'm so grateftul he had the opportunity to have one last "all about Bash" weekend before school starts, thanks Aunt Jenna and Rickers!

So, once again the visit consisted of my parents going gaga over Mia and Becks just being bounced from arm to arm. Oh, but our girl was eating it up!

{First Visitors- 1 day old}

Grandma and Aunt Josie brought the kids to see their baby brother for the first time. We had a wonderful visit and took lost of pics. Bash was smitten with Beck upon first glance, Mia on the other hand was a little out of sorts to say the least. She didn't know whether to smack him or kiss him. She wondered why this kid was in "mommy's lap" and not her. She also had mixed feelings about seeing John and I. After lots of "luvs and kisses" she was quickly reassured how much she is loved. Bash doesn't have that problem, he is often reminded that how special he is to our family and why, he's pretty cocky about it as a matter of fact.
and baby made 5...
