And He said unto me...

"My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.II Corinthians 12:9

I took these pictures of Ainsley one morning before our first Christmas here in Morocco.  I remember sitting on the floor and watching how she played… with such intent and curiosity.  The fact that her other senses are so heightened to compensate for her hearing loss is ever evident in her movement.  I've never struggled with the knowledge that she is hearing impaired, perhaps having a sister who is deaf and blind eased the blow.  But, mostly I think it's because I have a testimony of our Father in Heaven and the divine love He has for His children.  He knows them by name, their every joy, sorrow, and even impairments.  I am comforted by the knowledge that Ainsley is close to His heart and that He has given her so many other strong qualities to recompense her disability.  Recently, we visited a doctor who told us she had a possibly co-existing condition and that if treated she may be able to hear. They prescribed a medication and if it is not successful they are prepared to do a small procedure that may work. We are working on a treatment and will know in a week or so how to proceed. We pray everything will go according to his plan, as they say in Morocco, inshAllah. There are so many factors that have weighed heavy on my heart since the beginning of this whole ordeal, since the day after she was born and we were told she was deaf.  We've seen so many doctors, audiologists, specialists, and ENT's, it would make your head spin, it's almost like you hear so many opinions that you don't know who to believe and as a parent all you want to hear is the absolute truth…hard, concrete, indisputable evidence. But, through it all we've remained hopeful. Hopeful that maybe she can one day hear, hopeful that even if that day never comes she will still do wonderful things, hopeful that her life will be as full and amazing as any other daughter of God.

"For You formed my inward parts, You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You...Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they were all written..." Psalm 139:13-16
