Republica Dominicana {para celebrar 5 años juntos}

For our 5th anniversary, we decided that the Dominican Republic would be the perfect destination for a quick tropical get-a-way…boy, were we right! What a beautiful country…the food: amazing, the scenery: to die for, the memories: priceless.
We stayed in a quaint little apartment in Santo Domingo overlooking the ocean. Everyday we set out for a new adventure.

These were taken near downtown…just the usual hustle and bustle.

These were taken in the part of town they call the Zona Colonial, rich with history and lots of touristy stuff to eat, see, do, and buy. After 5 years of marriage I finally got John to agree to a carriage ride. He admitted afterward that they are not so bad, he even said they are in fact totally worth it, you can cover a lot of ground and do plenty of sightseeing without having to walk, and I get to feel like a princess so it's a win win.

These were up everywhere, I don't get it???

We trekked to Puerto Plata to see this spectacular view

the ride up was 8 min. long, but so worth it

 Our last day in D R was spent on the unforgettable beach of Boca Chica…

Before we headed to the airport, we made one last stop at the Dominican Republic Temple. It was situated on lush green land surrounded by gorgeous palm trees. It was closed for cleaning but we hope one day we can return for a proper tour.
