My Baptism took place last Sat. evening at the Eagle Springs Ward on Oct. 11. It was one of the most precious days of my life. I was surrounded by family, friends, and fairly new acquaintances who filled the room with love and comfort. The feeling afterward was indescribable. My sister-in-law Josie said a wonderful invocation and my other sister-in-law Jennifer gave the most beautiful talk about Baptism. I also had one of the original Missionaries that began our discussions, make a special trip form Cleveland and sing at my Baptism. My brother-in-law Robert spoke about the Holy Spirit and the importance of keeping the covenant throughout our lives, he was absolutely eloquent. Following the ceremony, my mother-in-law Yanet had a lovely reception at her house with lots of delicious appetizers and yummy desserts. It was a wonderful feeling to be greeted by people whom I'd never met, yet they wanted to be a part of this special event in my life, and welcome me into their lives. Perhaps the most special part of the whole event was having John and Sebastian by either side and then John being able to baptize me. It was a magical moment that I will cherish always. I am so greatful for the spirit that the missionaries have brought to our lives and for the support from Yanet, Jennifer, Robert and Josie. Thank you all for being there and loving me. Well, it's official, we are now part of the Mormon church. Or as the missionaries would say "Those missionaries got to the Ririe's too!"
Well, America I'm really happy for you and your decisions whatever makes you happy and being close to the Lord is the most important thing, because aside from him we are lost souls going nowhere. May the Lord continue to bless you, John and Sebastian and my Little Mia.
