Today was Bash's first soccer game on the Eagles team. Even though this league does not keep score, we kept score mentally, and I'm proud to say that we triumphed over the opposing team by quite a bit. Sebastian got to be goalie for the first time and he did an awesome job. Did not let them score once. We all met at a shopping center to decorate our cars and get the boys into their uniforms and then paraded or proceeded to the field honking and cheering for the team. It was a blast. This league is all about positive praise and attitude and its pretty refreshing to know that your child can make mistakes and other parents won't yell at him. Maybe in their minds, but not out loud. haha

Pumpkin Carving Party '08'
This is something cute my mom forwarded me when she heard about the party. I forgot to share it, so here it is.
When asked what it is like to be a Christian:
God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.
The party was a big hit and the kids had a blast, I think I had just as much fun. We had pizza, and lots of goodies, a pinata filled with chocolates, kids got a prize for their pumpkin carving skills, and as luck would have it, they got to play in the rain off and on, their FAVORITE thing to do. Thank you Jennifer, Josie, Ruth & James, and Yanet for all of your help and goodies you brought! A special thanks to the elders for their heroic hanging of the spider. I'm sure the Mission Leader would be thrilled to know that you all did that.
Look at Liv's prize Grandma Ririe judging Finished pumpkins Our ghost cake Elders standing on chairs then on shoulders hanging my spider Spider Elders hard at work Finished product Ruth and Amy made this meatball worm. How stinkin cute? GOODIES ! Pinata aftermath Uncle John dumped the candy down Raining candy Riries,Rickers,Brenners, Carruths

Houston Zoo / Tony's 18th Birthday Olive Garden
This past weekend my mom brought Tony, Stephen, Michelle, and Baby Sicily to visit. Also, for those of you who have never met him, Escalade, is the one carrying Sebastian and Sicily on his shoulders. He is a wonderful young man whom our family has sort of adopted. He is always there when we need him and he is a blast to have around. The kids refer to him as "Uncle Escalade." No, that's not his real name, his real name is William, but my dad still gets it wrong and calls him El Doradao, Yantet saw the pics and was like "Oh is that Cadillac?" Too funny !
