Wedded Bliss

 Four years ago today, our little yet growing family was sealed together in Houston's beautiful temple.   It's hard to imagine our lives before this event...we were married on a gorgeous beach in Puerto Rico and that wedding was wonderful, but having made the covenants that we did during our sealing ceremony and being eternally bound to our children, is something so beautiful and pure, one cannot imagine it's power until it happens. When I see a temple I'm reminded of that day and how wonderful it is to know that my spouse and my children will be with me throughout eternity, what a precious gift we've been given.

My how time flies!

Bedner's Farmers Market

It's that time again, so we hit up our local pumpkin patch today...not too shabby I must say, there were local vendors selling handmade jewelry, bows, lemonade, candy apples, hot dogs, and a pretty fun tractor ride.  It was a great day. 

 After 5 months of being here, we finally see our first alligator... on a hayride, go figure

We were a little bummed that the pumpkin patch was so sparse, but after our hayride they restocked the patch, if you will, and Mia thought it was just for her.

Hurricane Isaac

 Apparently letting your kids play in after hurricane flood water is considered pretty disgusting here in our subdivision. We got a lot of stares and comments, but please, lets face it, my kids have played in, drank, and eaten worse!

Mustache Bash

We made a Mustache Bash for Beckham's 2nd birthday. This cookie cake was basically a result of me running short on time and having to wing it at the end, but I love how it turned out anyway. The other two cookies you can't really tell from this angle, but were a bow tie and mushtache.

 My favorite part of his day was when all the house was quiet and the after math was cleaned up, we got to play his favorite game.

Texas part II

It's really cool to have my mom still live in the same neighborhood I grew up in...my kids get to hit up all the parks and fun places I used to enjoy.

My first nephew and I have children who are each about 6 months apart...is it weird that I have great nieces and nephews? Well, I did come along 8 years after my brother and sister.

If you've ever been to Texas, you've at least heard of a paletera. They are mostly known and loved for their delicious all natural paletas (popsicles) made with fresh fruit and fruit cups drizzled in the traditional seasoning of salt, lime, and chile...let's just say it's everything pregnant woman's dream come true.  We quickly became regulars during our vacation.  My nephew nearly landed me in the hospital for hypertension after he and I shared an "Angelito"...it's a sort of icee with lemon juice and salt, so yummy, but terrible for your tooth enamel, and horrible if your already having issues with water retention.
